City of Surrey
The City of Surrey is the second largest city in British Columbia, with a population of over 500,000. The city prides itself on being a destination and community for families, individuals, and businesses. Surrey City Centre is a vibrant health technology district, with businesses, a hospital, the regional health authority, academia, and research labs are all within minutes of each other.
Simon Fraser University
Simon Fraser University (SFU)’s Surrey campus is home to over 7,000 students and generates leading-edge research in Health Sciences, Mechatronics Engineering, Computing Science, Interactive Arts and Technology, and Business. SFU Innovates, SFU’s innovation strategy focuses on entrepreneurship, industry engagement, incubation and acceleration and social innovation.
Fraser Health Authority
Fraser Health is the largest health authority in BC, and provides a range of health care services to more than 1.8 million people living in communities stretching from Burnaby to Hope. Fraser Health is focusing on their core hospital and community services, and by investing where people need care now and in the future: whether at home, in the community or in the hospital.
BC Innovation Council (BCIC) encourages the development and application of advanced or innovative technologies to meet the needs of industry in BC. Innovation Boulevard is proud to be a BCIC partner that helps deliver programs and initiatives that promote company growth, resulting in jobs, increased revenue and economic development in BC. BCIC is a Crown Agency of the Province of British Columbia.
The National Research Council of Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP),provide innovation and funding services customized to SME needs. In collaboration with partners like Innovation Boulevard, NRC IRAP improves innovation and economic opportunities by helping SMEs navigate the available innovation resources and support programs, including access to Innovation Technology Advisors, the concierge program, and other resources.
Innovation Boulevard has a strategic collaboration with IBM Canada to allow member companies to access and leverage IBM disruptive and emerging technologies such as Bluemix, IBM's Cloud platform, and IBM Watson services to address big data challenges in health tech such as data analysis, population health trends, and medical resource management. Member companies will benefit from technology and support from IBM that will expedite their innovation and commercialization efforts.
